Building Materials Recycling

Increasingly, more building materials can be reused or recycled in McLean County. Consider the following options for your waste materials when working on a remodeling or construction project.


Store: Habitat for Humanity Restore, 1402 W Washington St, Bloomington, (309) 454-6047
Hours: Tuesday–Friday 10 am–5 pm, Saturday 9 am–4 pm
Acceptable items: Almost anything you take out of your home, i.e. doors, windows, cabinets, appliances, building supplies,etc
Drop-off Information: Business hours, or call to schedule a pick-up


Store: Old House Society – Architectural Warehouse, 214 East Douglas St, Bloomington, (309) 820-0548
Hours: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 8 am–5 pm
Acceptable items: hardware, electrical, plumbing, glass, tile, flooring, doors, registers, stairways, wood trim, porch materials
Drop-off Information: Store hours

Store: Henson Disposal Construction and Demolition Recycling, 2148 Tri Lakes Road, Bloomington, (309) 829-5022
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7 am–4:30 pm
Acceptable items: Asphalt shingles, wood materials, cardboard, drywall, metals, aggregate (bricks, concrete, rock, asphalt),
vinyl siding, bulk and clear plastics (charges per ton)
Drop-off Information: Business hours and offers roll-off dumpster services for large loads
