Adult Recycling Program: January 7th, 2023

Whether you are new to the county or have lived here since birth, you are probably recycling incorrectly. Recycling contamination is an issue which plagues our county, Illinois, and the United States. However, the Adult Recycling Program on Saturday, January 7th from 11:30-12:30pm can help you to stop wishful recycling! This event is co-hosted by the Ecology Action Center and Coffee Hound and will be held at the Coffee Hound: CH3 location on 915 E Washington Street, Suite 1 in Bloomington, IL. Attendees will leave with knowledge of what is recyclable in McLean county, a free coffee from Coffee Hound, and all their questions answered! This workshop includes a waste audit to see how well you have been doing with your waste steam. Feel free to bring a small bag (4 gallons or less) of trash (that is not stinky and does NOT include food waste) and/or recycling (that is clean and dry) for us to sort through. If you have children who are attending the children’s workshop earlier we will have activities for them to do while this workshop is going on.
