CANCELED-Children’s Vermicomposting Workshop: January 28th, 2023
January 28 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
*This event has been canceled due to low registration numbers.*
Do any of these statements describe you??
- You want a pet but you don’t want to deal with a dog to walk, a noisy parrot, or a cat box to clean.
- You generate a lot of carrot peelings and banana peels, and hate to just throw them away.
- You would love to create less garbage but are not sure how.
The answer to all the challenges above involves…. WORMS. Red wigglers, to be precise. Vermicomposting, or composting with worms, is an easy way to recycle food scraps into a rich fertilizer for your plants! These amazing, tiny creatures will actually eat your garbage.
This Children’s vermicomposting workshop on Saturday January 28th from 10-11am gives kids a beginning look at what vermicomposting is, the anatomy of a worm, and allows them to personally meet the worms that help our earth every day! This event is co-hosted by the Ecology Action Center and Coffee Hound and will be held at the Coffee Hound: CH3 location on 915 E Washington Street, Suite 1 in Bloomington, IL. Space is limited so please register below!
