Green Screen Climate Change Film Series: “Thunderbird Woman: Winona LaDuke”

October 18 @ 7:00 pm

Free

Illinois State University’s Center for Math, Science and Technology and the ISU Office of Sustainability invite campus and community members to The Green Screen: A Climate Change Film Series. Films feature a different topic each month, with a focus on the global climate change crisis.

Each film will be screened at 7 p.m. at the Normal Theater throughout the fall 2022 semester. All screenings are free and open to the community.

The film “Thunderbird Woman: Winona LaDuke” offers an inspiring portrait of Winona LaDuke, a dynamic activist and member of the Anishinaabe tribe. At age 17, she traveled to Geneva to speak out about indigenous issues at the UN. After studying at Harvard, she settled down in White Earth reservation, the homeland of her father, to restore it.
