Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Volunteering: October 4, 2025

The McLean County Household Hazardous Waste collection event being held on Saturday, October 4 depends on the assistance of dozens of volunteers to run smoothly.  Please consider signing up for a shift to assist with traffic control or other needs. Shifts are from 7:30-10:30am, 10:15-1:15pm, and 1-4pm. We are especially looking for assistance for our afternoon and mid-day shifts.

The work requires spending the entire shift on one’s feet, clear communication with event participants, and some possible light lifting with equipment setup/take-down. This is a high traffic event with moving cars and equipment so all volunteers must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate. Volunteers will receive detailed instructions prior to the event.
