Volunteer for Tree Planting Workdays

The Tree Corps initiative is completely dependent upon volunteers to be successful.  Volunteers help with planting workdays, pre-planting site preparations, watering of trees and other maintenance, and other evolving needs.  Workdays will be posted on the Ecology Action Center’s BN Green Events Calendar with date-specific workday volunteer sign up forms.

Current Volunteer Needs

Help is needed with the planting of 10,000 native trees at various sites in Bloomington-Normal in April and May 2022.

Volunteers must be 18 years old or older or alternately 12 years or older and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Tools and heavy equipment will be in use and all volunteers must be able to safely use hand tools, stay on their feet for 2.5 hours at a time and lift a moderate weight (~15 pounds).
