Fix a Leak Week is March 16-22:  Every Drop Counts!

Bloomington, IL,  March 11, 2015 -Fix a Leak Week is a nationwide water conservation initiative that is coming to our community.  The goal of the event is to encourage property owners to test the faucets, showers, sinks and toilets in their homes and businesses to find leaks and take steps to fix them.   Taking this step benefits our communities by preventing treated water from accidentally being lost.  Today, a clean and sustainable water supply is crucial for our communities and every drop counts.  (Fixing leaks can also reduce water bills.)

Free leak test kits will be available at in the plumbing departments at RP Lumber, Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, Ace Hardware  and Menard’s on March 21st between noon and 1pm.  The kits are being provided by Friends of EverBloom in partnership with the City of Bloomington, the Town of Normal, The Ecology Action Center, The McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District, the McLean County Health Department and the Mahomet Aquifer Consortium.  Friends of EverBloom members will be on hand to answer questions.

Look for the sink display in the plumbing departments at Lowe’s, Ace Hardware, Menards and RP Lumber!  Add “Test for Leaks” to your weekend calendar and we will see if our communities can reduce water usage simply by repairing small leaks.

A big thank you goes to Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, Ace Hardware, RP Lumber and Menards, the City of Bloomington, Town of Normal, Ecology Action Center, McLean County Health Department, The McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Mahomet Aquifer Consortium for partnering with Friends of EverBloom Bloomington to help conserve water.
