2021 – Henson Disposal Solid Waste Transfer Station – Site Approval Request

Overview

On December 29, 2020, Henson Disposal, Inc. submitted an application requesting site approval for a Solid Waste Transfer Station in McLean County. The application included documentation that all notifications required by law were completed prior to submission of the application. In accordance with State and County regulations, the site approval request, supporting documentation, staff reports, and public comments are submitted to the McLean County Clerk, and are made available for the public to view (see links below).

–> To obtain paper copies of these documents (must pay copying costs), contact the County Clerk at 309-888-5187.

–> Members of the public may provide comment regarding the suitability of the proposed use for the site location, by submitting written comments to the McLean County Clerk’s office – Attn: Tisha McKinney – via email ([email protected]),  U.S. Post (P.O. Box 2400 / Bloomington, IL 61701), or in person at 115 E. Washington St., Rm. 102 in Bloomington. All comments received or postmarked within 30 days after the public hearing will become part of the official record of this process, and will be available for the public to view (see links below). To obtain paper copies (must pay copying costs), contact the County Clerk’s office at 309-888-5187.

The Site Hearing Committee will hold a public hearing on 20 April, 2021 at 4:30 pm to gather evidence regarding the suitability of the proposed use for the site location.

–> Members of the public may attend the public hearing to give testimony and comment on the suitability of the proposed use for the site location.

The McLean County Board is expected to submit a final decision late summer or early fall of 2021, regarding whether or not to approve this site request.
