The Ecology Action Center’s BN Energy Bright program has partnered with the University of Illinois’ Sustainable Technology Center to host a workshop at 7:30 a.m. on November 24 for the Illinois Green Office Challenge, a friendly competition among businesses aimed at achieving energy and water conservation and waste reduction. The workshop, which will familiarize businesses with the program and how to use its cost-savings measures, is free to area businesses. Light refreshments will be served.
Businesses can sign up and fill out a simple form to enroll in the program. The Illinois Green Office Challenge is patterned after the Chicago Green Office Challenge, which achieved an average of 11% energy reduction for the participating businesses in 2013. The Challenge runs from November until April of 2015, with the winners recognized in May.
