Internships

If you are looking for a more intensive experience and more regularly scheduled work with the Ecology Action Center, please consider applying for an internship.  To do so, please send your resume and a cover letter indicating your interest, what you are looking to get out of an internship, and what you have to offer, to Education and Outreach Manager Katie Vogler at [email protected]

Please plan ahead–apply at least three months before the beginning of the semester during which you would ideally like to intern. Internships are competitive – normally only 1-2 interns are selected for any given semester. Common intern tasks include wildlife and chloride monitoring, writing social media posts and newsletter articles, completing literature reviews and data analysis, and more.

Currently the EAC is accepting applications for the spring. Applications are due by noon on October 24, 2025. See below for the open positions.

  • EAC Sustainability and Monitoring Intern: The EAC Sustainability and Monitoring intern will work independently on monitoring projects such as chloride monitoring (using test strips to monitor Sugar Creek for sodium chloride) and wildlife monitoring (categorizing images taken off trail cameras and using statistical software for analysis). The intern will also work with EAC staff to create social media posts, newsletter articles, marketing materials, lesson plans, literature reviews, etc. in various environmental sectors. Tasks change often and being able to work independently is a must.
