The Green Screen – Just Eat It
April 23 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Illinois State University’s Center for Math, Science and Technology (CeMaST) and the Office of Sustainability invite campus and community members to the spring 2024 edition of The Green Screen: A Climate Change Film Series. Each month films feature a different topic with a focus on the global climate change crisis.
Films will be screened at 7 p.m. at the Normal Theater throughout the spring 2024 semester. All screenings are free and open to the community. Faculty and student groups are particularly encouraged to highlight these free and local opportunities for students to learn more about these sustainability topics.
Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is thrown out each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping cold turkey and survive only on foods that would otherwise be thrown away. Just Eat It brings farmers, retailers, inspiring organizations, and consumers to the table in a cinematic story that is equal parts education and delicious entertainment.
