On December 29, 2020, Henson Disposal, Inc. submitted an application requesting site approval for a Solid Waste Transfer Station in McLean County. In accordance with State and County regulations, the site approval request, supporting documentation, staff reports, and public comments are submitted to the McLean County Clerk, and are made available for the public to view (see links below).

–> Members of the public may provide comment regarding the suitability of the proposed use for the site location, by submitting written comments to the McLean County Clerk’s office – Attn: Tisha McKinney – via email ([email protected]), U.S. Post (P.O. Box 2400 / Bloomington, IL 61701), or in person at 115 E. Washington St., Rm. 102 in Bloomington. All comments received or postmarked within 30 days after the public hearing will become part of the official record of this process, and will be available for the public to view (see links below). The Site Hearing Committee will hold a public hearing to gather evidence regarding the suitability of the proposed use for the site location. Once the public hearing is scheduled, details including date and location can be found here and will be published in the Pantagraph.

The McLean County Board is expected to submit a final decision late summer or early fall of 2021, regarding whether or not to approve this site request.
